Many people, especially benefit professionals, do not know that you can opt out of California’s State Disability Insurance Program.  It’s not very complicated.  And, it transforms your benefits programs into a much more responsive and rich reimbursement program if and when an employee is unable to work due to accident or sickness.

With the Benadvize Disability Insurance Increase Program, we offer your employees a more robust Short Term Disability Program than SDI.  In order to qualify, 50% of your employees must vote to adopt the new program AND your program has to be richer than SDI’s by just ONE IMPROVED BENEFIT.  Benadvize is included, at no cost, with our SDI Increase Program.

Typically, your employees pay about 1.35% of their payroll to SDI.  If they’re disabled and IF they’re approved by SDI, they receive a percentage of their wages for as long as they qualify up to one year’s payment.   With our program, a claimant will receive up to 66 2/3% of their eligible payroll after the 1st day of an accident and the 8th day of an illness for up to 52 weeks.  Unlike SDI’s program which caps the maximum benefit to an incredibly low weekly amount, our Increase Program does not limit the maximum to a low amount.  In fact, it comes incredibly close to their actual take home wages.

Benadvize will also manage California’s other legally required Time Off and Family Related Time Off programs at no additional cost.
